Data Center Engineer

Job Summary:

Stewart is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Center Network Engineer responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining our enterprise-wide IT network infrastructure. This includes overseeing data centers, corporate headquarters, and remote site locations. The ideal candidate will lead strategic architecture initiatives, drive infrastructure automation, ensure scalability and security, and support operational needs through expert-level engineering and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic architecture, design, engineering, and lifecycle management of network infrastructure and services across data centers and remote offices.
• Support day-to-day network operations, including routing, switching, security, load balancing, wireless, cloud connectivity, and SD-WAN solutions.
• Provide senior-level escalation support, manage network incidents, and ensure timely resolution of critical P1/P2 issues.
• Develop, document, and maintain network standards, roadmaps, and architecture diagrams.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the IT team.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to align with business goals.
• Manage and enhance network monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Collaborate with 3rd-party vendors and partners for seamless integration and support.

• Cisco Meraki (MS120, MS210, MS225, MS250), Cisco ISE

Security & Firewalls:

• Cisco ASA (5500-X series), Firepower (4xxx series), Palo Alto Firewalls
• IPSEC, SSL VPN, Cisco AnyConnect VPN
• Cisco ISE / Forescout NAC
• TACACS, RADIUS

Load Balancing & Application Delivery:

• Citrix NetScaler (NS SDX 11520, MPX 5500), Big-IP F5 (preferred)

Cloud & Voice:

• Azure and AWS cloud networking
• Cisco Webex Calling, Cisco Call Manager (CUCM), VoIP, QoS

SD-WAN & WAN:

• Silver Peak SD-WAN (500+ remote sites)
• WAN optimization and remote office connectivity

Monitoring & Automation:

• Splunk (v8.0.3), SolarWinds Orion (Platform 2020.2.5)
• Wireshark, tcpdump, Ethereal
• Experience with network automation concepts a plus

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, especially within data center environments
• Expert-level experience in routing/switching, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, and SD-WAN
• Strong troubleshooting skills and deep knowledge of TCP/IP, network protocols, and packet analysis
• Experience with high-availability and scalable infrastructure design
• Proficiency in creating detailed network documentation (e.g., Visio)
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and operational best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Cisco CCNP or CCIE certification
• Experience with micro-segmentation and multi-tenant architectures
• Experience in data center migrations, refreshes, and upgrades
• Proven ability to lead large-scale network projects
• Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
• Experience with collaboration and mentoring of engineering teams
