Job Description

  1. Contribute to Global & Regional Veg strategy as well as specific crop strategies as a key driver to deliver sustainable long-term Country business objectives.
  2. Design & drive evolution of GTM strategies in Country to deliver business effectively.
  3. Lead the Veg Business in Country to deliver short & midterm Business targets while building an effective, sustainable long-term end-to-end Business.
  4. Actively manage the human capital within the Country to ensure high-performing teams, building an effective talent pool for a sustainable future.
  5. Nurture key contacts in the veg industry and build relationships with outside bodies that have major influence on Syngenta Business and our license to operate.
  6. Monitor business performance and adjust strategies to achieve sales, profitability, and overall business targets.
  7. Engage with Syngenta leadership to ensure effective value-adding collaboration across the Country with a focus on overlapping strategies and managing shared resources.
  8. Ensure Syngenta's full compliance with the applicable legal and regulatory framework as well as Syngenta's own legal and ethical, HSE, Corporate security, Risk Management, and corporate governance standards.
  9. Provide overall BU Leadership for Veg SE teams in the Country operating in R&D and Production & Supply operations. Identify and explore complementary portfolio fitment for M&A opportunities.

Qualifications

  1. Industry relationship and understanding of forums and associations.
  2. Crops and agronomy knowledge.
  3. Marketing, Business operations, basic understanding of R&D and finance.
  4. Internal experience of the agri-business sector in Marketing, Sales, and Strategy (15-20 Years).
  5. Experience in campaign development and management.
  6. Understand market dynamics and competitive environment in Veg markets in SA and translate it into strategy.
  7. Design effective product lifecycle management strategy and crop strategy.
  8. Ability to apply Marketing and Sales Excellence effectively.
  9. Create strong, distinctive crop plans.

Additional Information

  1. Domestic and some international travel required.
  2. Mobility - open to relocate as per business need.
