The Opportunity

The Senior Software Engineer plays a pivotal role in solving complex technical challenges, designing scalable software, and ensuring high-quality code. They lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and take ownership of infrastructure improvements while balancing risks and opportunities.

They collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to interviews, onboarding, and uphold engineering standards. Effective communication is crucial for documenting design decisions, sharing knowledge, and engaging with stakeholders to align on product goals. They also research and propose technical solutions to drive product innovation and success.

In This Role You Will

• Solve complex technical challenges within your domain, providing high-quality code as a reference for junior engineers.
• Take ownership of tasks, evaluate risks, and improve infrastructure and systems, leaving things in a better state than found.
• Lead the design, coding, testing, and documentation of software solutions, researching and proposing technical innovations to meet project needs.
• Collaborate with team members to propose solutions, participate in discussions, and mentor junior engineers, fostering continuous improvement.
• Participate in interviews and onboarding, helping shape the team by bringing in new talent and ensuring adherence to standards.
• Document design decisions and complex systems to share knowledge across teams, and communicate with other departments and clients about progress and goals.

• 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a proven ability to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Expertise in Node.js and Angular, with proficiency in Python and C++.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Experience with system monitoring tools (Sentry, New Relic) and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for tackling complex challenges.
• Excellent communication skills for documenting decisions and engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with software development methodologies and delivering complex web applications.
• Ability to own tasks, assess risks, and make strategic improvements.
• Strong multitasking skills and effective prioritization in fast-paced environments.
