Professor / Associate / Assistant Professor will facilitate the Head of Department in managing and supervising the clinical and academic activities of the department, as well as patient care. He / She will assign duties to Senior Registrars / Registrar staff to ensure smooth functioning regarding patient care, teaching, and training of students. The role includes managing, supervising, and training PGs / MOs / HOs and other paramedical staff. Additionally, the incumbent will coordinate with hospital administration to ensure quality education for students and health services for patients.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualification: MBBS and FCPS in Relevant Field (as per PM&DC Eligibility Criteria)
  • Eligibility & Experience: (as per PM&DC Eligibility Criteria)

Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and deliver lectures, seminars, and clinical & practical skills sessions for MBBS / BDS students, including small group discussions, evaluation, and assessment according to the curriculum.
  • Facilitate postgraduate trainees (FCPS and DCPS) in clinical presentation, small group discussions, case-based and problem-based teaching, journal clubs, psychomotor skills training, and preparation for examinations and dissertation.
  • Assist the Head of Department / Professor in organizing CPC/clinical meetings and conferences in collaboration with professional organizations.
  • Coordinate research activities, facilitate publication requirements, and promote continuous education for faculty and postgraduate trainees as part of their career development.
  • Teach basic management of common patient problems, including emergency treatment, decision-making, and developing clinical skills in students.
  • Assist in organizing MBBS/BDS examinations.
  • Ensure regular OPD sessions for ongoing medical care and supervise new patient referrals for specialist advice.
  • Conduct ward rounds to monitor and manage inpatient care.
  • Perform medical procedures under supervision and ensure diagnostics and investigations are completed appropriately.
  • Provide specialist advice on patients referred from other departments.
  • Assess patients in the emergency department for consultancy as needed.
  • Participate in on-call duties after hours to provide critical patient care.
  • Assist in departmental inquiries related to mortalities.
  • Manage, supervise, and train PGs / MOs / HOs and paramedical staff to ensure quality patient care and staff development.
  • Prepare and monitor departmental duty rosters, resolving staffing issues as they arise.
  • Maintain liaison with hospital administration regarding ward management, patient records, and routine operational matters.
  • Adhere to Islamic and medical ethics as outlined by the IIMCT mission statement.
