Lecturer - Optometry / Orthoptics

- Meet annual targets assigned by the HOD.
- Work towards targets set by the Dean/Principal to secure a high-quality teaching and learning environment for students.
- Teach assigned courses as per faculty workload policy.
- Develop teaching and learning skills and contribute to the planning of teaching programs.
- Employ innovative teaching strategies and facilitate experiential learning during lessons.
- Challenge thinking, foster debate, and develop students' critical discourse and rational thinking abilities.
- Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements where appropriate.
- Set, mark, and assess work and examinations, providing feedback to students.
- Maintain records of students' academic performance for internal evaluation in examinations.
- Mentor 15 to 20 students as per the Riphah Mentoring Program.
- Update data in VLE and other required software as needed.
- Incorporate Islamic and ethical values in teaching; participate in departmental and university committee activities as required.
- Ensure teaching content and methods align with RIU mission and respond to subordinate and student needs.
- Supervise/randomly check student attendance in classes/labs/practicals.
- Write or contribute to publications or disseminate research findings through appropriate media.
- Seek practical applications of research findings.
- Conduct independent research and act as principal investigator and project leader.
- Supervise the work of others in research teams and projects, or serve as a PhD supervisor when required.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head.
