Job Summary:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial and hospitality buildings. The technician ensures that all HVAC equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable standards, while maintaining occupant comfort.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC systems including AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF systems, split units, chillers, and ventilation systems.
  • Diagnose and repair issues in HVAC equipment such as compressor faults, refrigerant leaks, motor or belt issues, and electrical malfunctions.
  • Replace worn or defective parts like filters, belts, motors, sensors, and control components.
  • Inspect and test HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with performance standards.
  • Adjust thermostats, control systems, and dampers for optimal performance.
  • Detect refrigerant leaks using specialized tools and ensure system integrity.
  • Report any major defects or safety concerns to the supervisor or engineering manager.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate PPE during HVAC maintenance work.
  • Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and BMS operators for integrated building system troubleshooting.
  • Use and maintain HVAC tools such as multimeters, gauges, vacuum pumps, leak detectors, and manifold sets.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma / Certificate in HVAC Technology, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, ducting, and controls.
  • Familiarity with HVAC tools, gauges, recovery units, and refrigerant handling procedures.
