About the role:
As Manager Tax you are required to manage the overall tax operations and compliances at both direct and indirect taxes. To manage overall processes of notices management, assessments, stay orders, filing of appeals, references, tax positions, tax advisory on day to day operations and projects, reporting to management, system enhancements and process improvements. Stakeholder management at both company and group level on important tax issues.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with federal and provincial tax laws and regulations.
- Develop strong relationships with tax authorities with capability to interact professionally.
- Provide innovative tax planning with an ability to review the tax impacts of business transactions.
- Improve processes and leverage technology to support Touch Free Operations.
- Tax advisory on day to day matter and projects including review of contracts.
- Preparing high quality tax analysis by reviewing transactions flow of different business segments.
- Managing tax assessments, compliances, appeals, stays, hearings to ensure secure submissions.
- Develop good communication interface with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advising tax optimization opportunities with efficient and proactive engagement plans.
- Close coordination with tax advisors/legal counsel in tax matters with optimum utilization.
- Timely update of Risk list, tax case books.
- Align reporting and documentation requirements from tax authorities to system capabilities
- Ensuring timely and accurate reporting to local management & group accounting/tax.
What we are looking for?
Education: CA / CMA / ACCA / MBA (Finance)
Work experience:
- Minimum 8 years' relevant experience.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of federal and provincial tax laws.
- Good knowledge of business processes.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and accounting tools.
- System savvy and business processes improvements know how.
- Good command on office tools i.e. powerpoint, spreadsheets.

- Highly self-motivated and customer oriented with a positive can-do attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

- Manage stakeholder effectively with ability to get things done cross-functionally.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills in conjunction with the ability to prioritize and handle complex tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent knowledge of federal and provincial tax laws and rules.
