Position Purpose:

To carry out teaching and service responsibilities within the Department, especially in the area of Chemical Engineering.

Main Responsibilities:

• To support the teaching objectives of the department by delivering teaching through allocated lectures, tutorials and other forms of undergraduate teaching by the Department Chair.
• Participation in lab infrastructure development of highest standards.
• To develop own teaching materials, methods and approaches, with the guidance from the program head.
• To assist in the development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
• To ensure that course design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the university and department.
• To participate in departmental and faculty seminars aimed at interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department.
• Familiarity with and operation of special laboratory equipment, including analytical equipment, data measurement devices and meters, pumps, reactors, membranes, heat exchangers, other unit operations, and biological materials and equipment such as microscopes.
• Development of new or modified lab course manuals for use by students.
• Supervise and demonstrate chemical engineering unit operations/processes to undergraduate and graduate students.
• Design and develop new experiments for undergraduate and graduate level chemical engineering laboratory.
• Assisting faculty in teaching undergraduate students of chemical engineering in classroom and laboratory.

Other Responsibilities:

• As assigned by the program head from time to time.
• To actively follow and promote LUMS policies, including Equal Opportunities.

• Excel
• Aspen Plus
• AutoCAD
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Urdu are essential
• Drafting P&IDs and PFDs
• Maintain data books and record
• Programming skill in C/C++ or R/MATLAB

Qualification and Experience:

• M.Sc. or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from HEC recognized institute.
• At least 1 to 2 years of teaching or working experience in a related field.

Travel/Work Schedule:

Travel may be required. Business hours (8:30 am to 5:00 pm) often extend into the evenings and weekends to accommodate the needs of current workloads and event schedules.
