Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative research and development strategies to drive product advancement in the furniture industry
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers to create and refine furniture designs that meet market demands and business objectives
  • Conduct extensive market research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive products
  • Collaborate with product management and marketing to define product specifications and ensure successful launches
  • Oversee prototyping, testing, and evaluation of new products, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within scope
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the R&D team
  • Establish partnerships with suppliers and industry experts to leverage new technologies and materials
  • Document and maintain detailed records of research findings, design enhancements, and product development processes
  • Advocate for sustainable practices in product development and material usage
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in R&D within the furniture or related manufacturing sector
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in CAD software and other design tools for creating prototypes
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on problem-solving
  • Familiarity with modern manufacturing processes and materials
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Passion for innovation and staying current with industry trends
