Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and driven Lead AI Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) models, and play a critical role in evaluating various architectures and approaches for specific AI tasks.

You will be expected to bring deep technical expertise in modern AI/LLM systems, a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning, and the ability to assess trade-offs between models and techniques. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and passionate about solving complex problems at scale.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable RAG-based architectures for various use cases.

- Explore and implement alternative techniques beyond RAG (e.g., fine-tuning, distillation, memory networks, graph neural networks, or hybrid retrieval-generation models).

- Perform rigorous model evaluations and benchmarking (e.g., accuracy, latency, cost) and make clear, data-backed recommendations for production deployment.

- Collaborate with product and research teams to align model capabilities with business needs.

- Leverage strong mathematical reasoning and algorithmic thinking to solve complex inference, retrieval, and optimization challenges.

- Stay current with emerging research, tools, and techniques in AI and contribute to innovation initiatives.

- Design experiments and run A/B testing to validate improvements and ensure robustness of AI systems.

Must-Have Skills & Tools

- Deep understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Transformers, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

- Strong background in applied machine learning and deep learning (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).

- Expertise in information retrieval, vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Weaviate, Pinecone), and dense/sparse retrievers.

- Experience with model evaluation frameworks, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning techniques.

- Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in ML libraries and tools (Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.).

- Excellent grasp of mathematical concepts including linear algebra, probability, optimization, and graph theory.

- Familiarity with deployment tools (Docker, Kubernetes), ML pipelines (MLflow, Weights & Biases), and version control (Git).

Nice-to-Have

- Experience with multi-modal AI (text, vision, code).

- Familiarity with reinforcement learning, meta learning, or neuro-symbolic reasoning.
