QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Retired from Armed Forces as Brigadier or Civilian with a minimum of 10 years' experience in senior management.
- Master's / MBBS / Pharm – D or degree in Healthcare Management / Supply Chain Management.
- Over 10 years' experience in Healthcare procurement.
- Proven leadership in pharmaceutical procurement and supply chain management, preferably in retail pharmacy, hospitals, or healthcare companies.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills with good knowledge of supplier management, database management, inventory management, ERP, and other office programs.
- Expertise in warehouse management, inventory control, and logistics.
- Understanding of drug regulations, licensing requirements, and compliance standards.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the end-to-end Procurement, Warehouse & Supply Chain functions, ensuring smooth movement of goods across the pharmacy network and other business units.
- Supervise procurement activities for Pharmacies (including LP & Retail), Warehouse, and bulk supply orders.
- Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring proper storage, handling, and distribution of pharmaceutical products and supplies.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for MedAsk, including pharmaceuticals and other business needs.
- Manage supplier selection, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Ensure procurement compliance with drug regulations and healthcare standards.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and risks to inform purchasing decisions.
- Optimize inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking, ensuring availability of medicines and supplies.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering efficiency and accountability.
- Negotiate purchase terms and manage the return of expired medicines.
- Manage bulk supply orders through tendering processes.
- Oversee all procurement activities from demand forecasting to delivery, ensuring compliance with policies, laws, and standards.
- Develop KPIs and monitor performance targets.
- Support the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with hospital, government, and market standards.
- Recommend and utilize electronic and automated systems for forecasting and demand planning.
- Establish quality specifications for medicines purchased.
- Support departmental planning aligned with organizational goals.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by senior management.
