Principal Engineer, Maintenance, RCP

LOCATION: Rakh Canal Plant, Faisalabad

REPORTS TO: Manager Maintenance, RCP

DIRECT REPORTS: ~80

As Principal Engineer, Maintenance, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling the operation, maintenance, project functions, resources, and staff with invaluable knowledge in an effective and efficient manner.

What will you do:

1. Operation & Maintenance – Possess comprehensive expertise in operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and utility systems, including compressors, cooling towers, pumps, gears, conveyors, sifters, dryers, elevators, mills, centrifuges, fans, motors, LT/HT switchgears, generators, 132 KV grid stations, and basic knowledge of instrumentation & PLC/DCS systems. Well-versed in maintenance methodologies such as Reliability Centered Maintenance, Condition-Based Maintenance, and Time-Bound Maintenance.
2. Project Management – Capable of designing mechanical and electrical systems and implementing timely modifications to meet process requirements. Must have project management knowledge to handle capex projects and meet project timelines through effective control of cash flows.
3. Inventory Management – Strong knowledge of inventory management systems; responsible for evaluating critical store items to keep machines operational, developing QEMs for material selection, and following up on deliveries by maintaining a critical machine parts list and updating statuses regularly.
4. Contractor Management – Capable of managing contractors to execute project jobs within timelines and budgets. Includes developing contracts for petty jobs, evaluating contractor bids, QEMs, and billings.
5. People Management – Ability to lead teams across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, utilities, and civil departments. Develop close coordination among departments, promote best practices, provide technical guidance, and build effective teams.
6. Compliance with Company Policies – Responsible for ensuring adherence to company policies.
7. Continuous Improvement – Share ideas for energy conservation and process optimization, prepare feasibility reports and BOQs, oversee procurement, and ensure safe project execution within stipulated timelines. Contract management is mandatory.
8. Stakeholder Management – Ensure compliance with employee training needs, build relationships with stakeholders, coordinate with procurement for cost-effective substitutes of import items, and ensure high-quality, timely, and cost-efficient business operations.

What will you bring:

• B.Sc. / M.Sc. Engineering in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics
• Prior experience in petrochemical, fertilizer, process, food, or cement industries.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in O&M of electrical & mechanical installations
• Deep knowledge of O&M, maintenance methodologies, reliability management, and people development
• Proficiency in ERP systems including SAP, Lean Six Sigma, MS Office, ETAB, AutoCAD, & Power BI for preventive and corrective maintenance
• Understanding of international standards such as EHS, IMS, GPM, ISO, and Food Safety
