Overall Area Leadership
  • Responsible and accountable for the entire academic leadership and management of Schools and the cohort of Principals.
  • Ensures improvement in SSR, enhances fee collection, and manages day-to-day fleet operations. Manages the Area Administrator for administrative duties and academic data management (analysis, verification, preservation).
Relationship Management
  • Maintains communication with community members, encourages the use of community resources to support schools, and promotes strong communication between Principals and Parents. Attends Parent-Student meetings occasionally. Liaises with donors on education activities as needed.
  • Collaborates with other AEMs to foster a strong, cooperative regional environment, seeking feedback and sharing best practices for overall regional development.
Quality of Principal
  • Works to strengthen the Principal cohort to enhance quality.
  • Collaborates with the RHR Manager in recruiting qualified local Principals, including participation in Assessment Centers.
  • Ensures Principals participate in PQI visits, provides regular academic feedback (including formal appraisals), and supports continuous improvement, including PIP where applicable.
Quality of Teacher
  • Focuses on strengthening the Teacher cohort to improve quality through content development via TCT and pedagogy.
  • Works with Principals to recruit quality local Teachers, especially in challenging locations. Approves Teacher transfers and promotions.
  • Conducts at least one classroom observation per visit, providing consistent feedback.
Quality of Schools
  • Develops action plans for struggling schools, implements strategies, and follows up regularly to ensure improvements.
  • Creates and executes area improvement strategies linked to whole school and regional development through AIP.
