About the Role:

We are seeking a Medical Records Assistant to support our psychiatrist and healthcare team in managing patient documentation, record-keeping, and correspondence. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a background in psychology to assist in crafting medical letters, handling patient records, and ensuring compliance with legal and confidentiality standards.

This is a night shift position (7:00 PM - 4:00 AM Pakistan Time, aligned with Central Standard Time - CST), requiring excellent written communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the psychiatrist in managing and organizing medical documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Draft professional letters, clinical notes, and reports based on the psychiatrist's assessments and patient prognosis.
  • Prepare and update patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality policies.
  • Accurately enter, retrieve, and maintain patient data within the medical records system.
  • Respond to patient and legal requests for medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Coordinate with nurses, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals for proper documentation flow.
  • Review medical history and prognosis details to assist in crafting treatment-related correspondence.
  • Ensure timely processing and organization of patient files for easy access by authorized personnel.
  • Assist in quality control checks to maintain accuracy and compliance in all medical documents.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth documentation and record-keeping processes.
  • Provide administrative support for documentation-related inquiries from internal staff and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Psychology (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in medical records handling or administrative roles in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
