Job Summary

A Principal Software Engineer for Python at Creative Chaos is responsible for developing server applications across various platforms, including writing RESTful APIs for client consumption. They ensure that the functionality, security, and performance of the server applications meet design specifications and are bug-free. Principal engineers also lead and mentor a team of engineers through continuous training and guidance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software engineers
  • Mentor team members through training and guidance

  • Write code and unit tests
  • Collaborate with other team members
  • Optimize code for security and performance
  • Maintain systems by fixing issues
  • Update issue tracking software

  • Evaluate candidates for open positions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent
  • 6-8 years of relevant industry experience
  • Extensive experience with Python and Django framework
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies, tools, and platforms
  • Experience with Azure and AWS
  • Experience developing backend components and RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of security standards and compliance
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Ability to design database structures
  • Experience with unit testing and maintaining at least 90% test coverage
  • Familiarity with GitHub, JIRA, and collaboration tools
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles
  • Basic knowledge of front-end technologies
