Job Description (Café Expert)

Purpose

To interact with and create lasting, genuine relationships with every guest, encouraging and earning their loyalty and repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

Product Preparation & Knowledge

  1. Making drinks, including blender and espresso-based beverages
  2. Serving food
  3. Creating merchandise gifts
  4. Preparing whole and ground bean packages
  5. Providing product information to guests
Selling

Seeks opportunity to enhance the guest experience by providing recommendations for complementary and new products (e.g., food, merchandise, café cards etc).

Cleaning and Organizing

  1. Cleaning the facilities (condiment stand, floors, counters, washrooms, tables etc)
  2. Re-stocking product (e.g. beans, cups, merchandise)
  3. Equipment maintenance and calibration (espresso machine, grinders, syrup dispensers)
Cash Handling

  1. Completing sales with guests using cash, debit/credit, givex
  2. Follow business procedures for handling voids and cash handling mistakes
  3. End of shift reconciliation of cash and register records
Experience Delivery

  1. Providing consistent, individualized guest attention
  2. Acting in a friendly, approachable manner
  3. Demonstrating passion and confidence for Second Cup brand
