Job Summary

We are seeking a Trucking Dispatch Coordinator who will be responsible for finding and booking profitable loads for our fleet, optimizing routes, and ensuring the efficient operation of daily trucking logistics. The ideal candidate will be adept at negotiating rates, maximizing revenue for each load, and managing the dispatching of drivers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Finding and Booking Loads
  • Proactively source and identify available loads through freight brokers, load boards, direct client relationships, and online platforms.
  • Negotiate freight rates with shippers, brokers, and customers to secure the best possible rates while maximizing profitability.
  • Evaluate each load based on profitability, timing, and route optimization before booking.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and brokers to ensure a steady stream of loads.
Maximizing Revenue
  • Focus on maximizing revenue by carefully selecting loads that align with available truck capacity and operational efficiency.
  • Continuously review load rates, negotiate better pricing when necessary, and track competitive rates to ensure the company remains competitive while maximizing margins.
  • Identify opportunities to backhaul or consolidate shipments to maximize truck utilization and reduce empty miles.
Dispatch Coordination
  • Efficiently schedule and dispatch drivers, ensuring optimal routes and adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Provide drivers with clear instructions and necessary documentation, including load details, pick-up/drop-off points, and delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor delivery status to ensure on-time delivery, and adjust schedules in real-time based on traffic, weather, or operational changes.
Customer Service
  • Maintain excellent communication with customers and brokers to provide load status updates, address concerns, and build long-term relationships.
  • Communicate with drivers to resolve any issues that arise during transportation, ensuring customer satisfaction and on-time deliveries.
  • Ensure that all customer expectations are met, including any special requirements for the loads.
Logistics and Documentation
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate for each shipment.
