Senior Engineer

As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products. Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and gather information on performance requirements and interfaces. This role focuses on audio/voice use cases on Qualcomm DSPs as part of the Snapdragon Processor family, interacting with Hardware, HLOS, and Audio Tuning teams globally.

• Design, develop, and implement software for audio/voice use cases on Qualcomm DSPs; support use cases across smartphones, smart speakers, media boxes, and other smart devices.
• Gain in-depth understanding of DSP architecture, proprietary RTOS on DSP, DSP framework for audio/voice, and interfaces such as I2S, HDMI, SPDIF.
• Develop, integrate, and commercialize software modules on DSP platforms; perform requirements analysis, software maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio DSP framework, services, and drivers.
• Optimize for DSP performance, drive framework and driver enhancements for new use cases, and participate in design discussions across teams.

• Experience 3-5 years on any DSP/embedded processor with proficiency in C/C++, computer architecture, and operating systems.
• Knowledge of multi-threaded programming and strong debugging skills in real-time operating systems, preferably on DSP platforms.
• Experience with audio use cases (playback, recording, streaming) and voice use cases (e.g., CS and PS calls).
• Experience with audio/speech pre/post processing (e.g., echo cancellation, noise suppression, audio effects) and compression standards (e.g., MP3, AAC, FLAC, AMR, EVS).
• Expertise with DSP tools and techniques (e.g., Trace32, JTAG); familiarity with audio interfaces like I2S, HDMI, SPDIF.
• Education: Bachelors/Masters in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science or related field from a reputed institute.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, or
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience, or
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
