About the Job:
The Funds & Cheque Operations Officer is responsible for managing day-to-day banking and fund transfer activities, including the preparation of cheques, RTGS transactions, monitoring bank positions, and ensuring timely deposit operations. This role plays a key part in implementing bank-related policies and maintaining smooth fund flow and reconciliation processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare cheques as instructed by the Lead – Fund Management and coordinate dispatch through riders.
- Draft and send RTGS letters to banks and follow up for execution and confirmation.
- Download and monitor daily bank statements to prepare the bank position and assess fund availability.
- Manage intra-bank fund transfers, including reducing finance limits and transferring surplus to savings accounts.
- Monitor and allocate incoming funds from export and local proceeds.
- Receive and deposit cheques into relevant bank accounts; ensure confirmation of payments through bank statements.
- Confirm fund transfers to concerned departments across all company locations.
- Process investment and redemption forms for Islamic Funds, including correspondence and follow-ups.
- Prepare and dispatch letters for cancellation of pay orders related to refunds from the C&F department.
- Ensure timely cheque deposits from local sales and support the Accounts Receivable team with documentation.
- Process short- and long-term borrowing repayments including markups and rentals; ensure accurate posting via TRM.
- Maintain daily fund position reports and share updates with the CFO and divisional heads.
- Compile and report monthly bank and liabilities positions for senior management.
- Calculate and prepare markup workings for all financing facilities within group companies on due dates.
- Post RTGS-related documents and vouchers in SAP for all group entities.
- Approve creation of new cheque lots in the system.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Lead – Reconciliation & Fund Management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- (Equivalent specialized diploma or certification may also be considered.)
- Preferred Certifications: Certification in Islamic Finance or Treasury Management is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum Required: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in fund management, bank operations, or treasury functions.
- Preferred Experience: Working knowledge of SAP and familiarity with RTGS, cheque handling, and Islamic financing instruments.
