Job Summary:

The Financial/Business Analyst plays a critical role in linking operational performance with financial results and commercial strategy. This position supports manufacturing operations, sales teams, and senior management through in-depth financial analysis, pricing recommendations, market intelligence, and strategic planning. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, commercial acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to drive profitability and competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Planning & Analysis:
    • Develop and analyze management reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
    • Lead forecasting and financial modeling for plant operations and sales divisions.
    • Track manufacturing KPIs (wastages, cost per unit, utilization) and sales KPIs (volume, margins, customer mix).
  2. Sales Performance & Pricing Analysis:
    • Conduct sales trend analysis (volume, value, customer-wise, region-wise).
    • Evaluate gross margin by customer, product line, and segment.
    • Support pricing decisions using cost-plus or market-based models.
    • Assess pricing impact on profitability and competitiveness.
    • Monitor discounts and promotional spending to align with strategy.
  3. Market & Competitor Analysis:
    • Analyze industry trends, market share, and competitor performance.
    • Maintain intelligence on competitor pricing, positioning, and strategy.
    • Conduct SWOT and benchmarking studies for strategic planning.
    • Evaluate macroeconomic, regulatory, and geopolitical factors.
  4. Sectoral & Customer Segment Analysis:
    • Analyze demand and trends across key sectors (automotive, construction, appliances, commercial).
    • Identify opportunities and threats in market segments.
    • Prepare reports and dashboards on customer performance, sector contribution, and margins.
    • Support sales strategy with segment-specific financial insights.
  5. Strategic & Operational Support:
    • Prepare financial models and business cases for new projects, products, and markets.
    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, supply chain, and production teams for decision support.
    • Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for strategic initiatives.
  6. Costing, Inventory & Operational Analysis:
    • Perform cost analysis, identify deviations and root causes.
    • Analyze raw materials, WIP, finished goods valuation, and cost drivers.
    • Monitor working capital KPIs and support inventory optimization.
  7. Data Management & BI Reporting:
    • Develop and automate reports using ERP (Oracle) and BI tools.
    • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of dashboards.
    • Enable decision-makers with visualizations, insights, and recommendations.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong analytical mindset with commercial orientation.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, pricing strategy, and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP (Oracle), and BI tools.
  • Ability to analyze big data and present insights.
  • Interpersonal skills for collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Understanding of market dynamics and macroeconomic factors.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Analytics.

Professional certification (CA, CFA, ACCA, MBA – Finance) preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 5–7 years in manufacturing or industrial environment, with exposure to operational and commercial finance.
