Assistant Network Engineer / IT Technician

Hillcrest Solutions is seeking to hire for an International Chinese Telecom Company for its upcoming GSC project.

Job Description:

  1. New office network environment deployment and maintenance and ensure network robustness.
  2. Maintain the GSC production network, including user access area, data center, and connectivity to multiple customers.
  3. Support the GSC remote access to customer side, including providing connectivity proposals, explanations, and implementations, ensuring connectivity reachability and stability throughout the remote access project lifecycle.
  4. Responsible for daily switch port and firewall policy requirements, network health checks, emergency planning, and drills.
  5. Maintain documentation related to the network, such as IP address lists, CMDB, and connectivity information for each remote access project.
  6. Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues assigned to them.
  7. Maintain accurate inventory of all hardware and software resources and parts.
  8. Identify and effectively prioritize situations requiring urgent attention.
  9. Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions.
  10. Maintain excellent communication with all end users and other members of the technology department.
  11. Provide technical assistance to clients as a Desktop Support Engineer, including installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting hardware and software systems.
Job Specification

Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Expert knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, or Huawei equipment and technologies.
  2. Ability to quickly identify, diagnose, and provide solutions to complex problems, requirements, and integration of various technologies.
  3. Experience in planning, installing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls.
  4. Establish and maintain service levels; perform basic troubleshooting; monitor network implementations; and manage network device alarms.
  5. Expert knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 technologies, focusing on network equipment, specifically routers, switches, and firewalls.
  6. Detailed knowledge and experience with Open Short Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), MPLS, and IPSEC.
  7. Expertise in networking and LAN/WAN optimization.
  8. Monitor availability and reliability of Data Center Network.
  9. Resolve hardware, operational, infrastructure, and application incidents within the data center switch and routing infrastructure.
  10. Provide preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and quickly resolve routine problems to ensure infrastructure and application stability.
  11. Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals.
  12. Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical people and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
