Network Engineer

Responsibilities (includes but not limited to)
- Maintain the GSC production network, including user access area, data center, and connectivity to multiple customers.
- Support the GSC remote access to customer side, including providing the connectivity proposal, connectivity explanation and implementation, and supporting the connectivity reachability and stability for the entire life cycle of the remote access project.
- Responsible for daily switch port and firewall policy requirements, network health checks, emergency planning, and drills.
- Maintain documentation related to the network, such as IP address lists, CMDB, and connectivity information for each remote access project.
- Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues assigned to them.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all hardware and software resources and parts.
- Identify and effectively prioritize situations requiring urgent attention.
- Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions.
- Maintain excellent communication with all end users and other members of the technology department.
- Provide technical assistance to clients, including installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems.
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
For L1 engineer, at least 1-3 years of experience in Network administration, maximum 5 years of experience in Network administration.

Job SpecificationKnowledge & Skills
- Expert knowledge of Cisco, Juniper or Huawei equipment and technologies.
- Ability to quickly identify, diagnose and provide solutions to complex problems, requirements, and integration of various technologies.
- Provide planning, installing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, VPN, and Firewalls.
- Establish and maintain service levels; perform basic troubleshooting; monitor network implementations; and manage network device alarms.
- Expert knowledge with layer 2 and layer 3 technologies with a focus on network equipment, specifically routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Detailed knowledge and experience with Open Short Path First (OSPF) and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), MPLS, and IPSEC.
- Functions as the expert in networking experience as well as LAN/WAN optimization experience.
- Monitor availability and reliability of Data Center Network.
- Resolve hardware, operational, infrastructure, and application incidents within our data center switch and routing infrastructure.
- Provide preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and quickly resolve routine problems to ensure infrastructure and application stability.
- Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical people.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
