We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.

In this role, you will:

An opportunity has arisen for an Agile Java Developer and Level 2 Support Team Leader to lead a specialist Technical Level 2 team for KYC and Customer Due Diligence Technology in one of the India offices. Managing development support and non-development support personnel in two sites in India. The ideal applicant will have experience in development and leading a technical team. They will also be required to perform the role of Incident Commander when necessary and liaise with the global functional manager in the UK.

Purpose

This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:

  • Lead the quick and effective resolution of production support and defect management with team members and with the customer/user experience as a key objective.
  • Actively contribute to the Technology Engineering Practice by sharing Subject Matter Expertise from their area of specialization, best practices, learnings, and coaching team members.
  • Drive adherence to all standards and policies within their area of DevOps technology.
  • Support data accuracy-related infrastructure within the bank's systems to ensure correct customer outcomes.
  • Guide the team to prioritize and deliver application fixes and defect resolutions.
  • Ensure the team complies with service management SLAs and define relevant metrics.
  • Ensure service resilience.

Responsibilities

  • The Specialist Engineer will be responsible for providing team leadership and engineering expertise to the APS Level 2 team, which may include data engineering, security engineering, front-end engineering, and user experience engineering.
  • They may support platforms specific to an HSBC business area requiring specialized technology engineering expertise.
  • They may be accountable for a product or service within a technology engineering specialization or provide subject matter expertise to multiple teams in their area of expertise.
