We are looking for a Engineering Lead - Backend to play a key role in our Engineering department and be part of our ongoing growth and success.

What we expect from you
  • Lead and motivate a distributed backend engineering team, setting clear goals and driving execution
  • Translate business needs into a quarterly roadmap, ensuring alignment of estimates and architecture
  • Delegate tasks effectively, balancing workload while maintaining momentum on the roadmap and technical debt
  • Participate actively in architectural discussions and collaborate with Product teams to design and develop new features
  • Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews and feedback
  • Handle complex, high-priority technical implementations
  • Oversee release and deployment processes to ensure stability
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and work to reduce errors
  • Conduct meaningful 1:1s, mentoring and coaching engineers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions
  • Communicate transparently with stakeholders to ensure alignment
  • Foster a motivated and collaborative team culture
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • Proven experience in backend software development at scale
  • Deep expertise in Java and Spring Framework
  • Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and AWS
  • Track record of resolving technical and process bottlenecks
  • Leadership skills, preferably across multiple geographies
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with error management, migrations, or scaling backend systems
  • Background in e-commerce or large-scale platforms is a plus
  • Experience working with external partners
  • Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies
