About the Role:

As a Data Engineer, you will take ownership of our data pipeline and analytics infrastructure. You'll design a unified data warehouse to centralize information from multiple platforms including Shopify, Recharge, and device activity streams. Your work will directly support business operations by enabling data-driven decisions, ensuring data quality, and empowering teams through integrated BI tools. This role requires someone comfortable with both backend architecture and analytics tooling. You'll play a central role in connecting operational systems with scalable analytics workflows, helping us uncover insights and opportunities to improve everything from customer service to product performance.

Key Responsibilities:

● Design and own the architecture of Company's data warehouse to unify data from internal systems (Cosmo Admin, Shopify, Recharge) and IoT device streams.

● Develop and manage robust ETL/ELT pipelines to process large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

● Ensure data quality and consistency across systems with validation, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.

● Integrate BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI to enable real-time dashboards and reporting for internal teams.

● Build scalable data models to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.

● Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business teams to define data needs and deliver insight-driven solutions.

● Implement best practices in data governance, security, storage optimization, and performance tuning.

● Monitor infrastructure health, ensuring backup, recovery, and security protocols are well established.

About You

You're a data infrastructure expert who knows how to transform a web of unstructured events and third-party data into an organized, usable, and insightful warehouse. You're comfortable designing both systems and strategy, and you thrive in environments where you're given ownership and trust. You love working with data and want to help a growing mission-driven company scale the right way.

You should have:

● 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role.

● Deep experience building data pipelines and warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).

● Fluency in SQL, data modeling, and ETL frameworks (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Fivetran).

● Strong knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations (e.g., Shopify, Recharge).

● Proven track record of BI tool integration (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

● Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.

● Experience working with IoT or telemetry data is a major plus.

● A strong problem-solving mindset and excellent communication skills.

● The ability to work independently and own systems from concept to execution.
