Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Backend Python Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining robust backend services and APIs. You'll collaborate closely with frontend and architecture teams to implement new features and optimize system performance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain high-quality backend applications using Python.
  2. Design and implement APIs with a basic understanding of RESTful standards and HTTP protocols.
  3. Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, and DevOps engineers to ensure smooth feature integration.
  4. Work with PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy to handle data storage and queries.
  5. Write unit and integration tests using pytest or similar frameworks.
  6. Follow Agile methodologies and participate in SCRUM ceremonies and sprints.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  1. 3+ years of hands-on experience in Python backend development (Falcon or similar frameworks).
  2. Solid understanding of SQL and experience working with PostgreSQL.
  3. Knowledge of security best practices for HTTPS/API communication.
  4. Familiarity with SQLAlchemy or other Python ORM frameworks.li>Experience using pytest for automated testing.
  5. Understanding of REST API concepts and request/response lifecycles.
  6. Strong communication skills and ability to work in medium to large teams.
  7. Familiarity with Agile practices, particularly SCRUM.

Nice to Have

  1. Experience with data manipulation libraries such as pandas or polars.
  2. Working knowledge of NumPy for numerical operations.
  3. Ability to profile and optimize Python applications for performance.
  4. Exposure to message queues like Redis or cloud platforms such as Azure is a plus.
