Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver curriculum: Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans, lectures, and hands-on activities that cover all aspects of the Health Care Assistant program curriculum.
  • Classroom instruction: Conduct engaging and interactive classroom sessions to impart theoretical knowledge and practical skills in areas such as patient care, medical terminology, infection control, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Clinical training supervision: Facilitate clinical training experiences by overseeing students during their practical rotations in healthcare settings, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and professional standards.
  • Assess student progress: Evaluate student performance through quizzes, exams, assignments, and practical assessments to measure understanding and proficiency in course materials.
  • Provide feedback and support: Offer constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them enhance their skills and address areas for improvement. Provide academic and personal support as needed to promote student success.
  • Stay current with industry trends: Keep abreast of developments in the healthcare field, including changes in regulations, best practices, and technological advancements, and integrate relevant updates into the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues: Work collaboratively with other instructors, program coordinators, and administrative staff to ensure smooth program operations, effective communication, and continuous improvement of teaching methods and materials.
Job Specification
  • Education: Knowledge: Thorough understanding of healthcare principles, practices, and regulations. Familiarity with instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Certification: Current certification as a Health Care Assistant or equivalent is required. Additional certifications such as CPR, First Aid, or medication administration may be advantageous.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate student schedules and program needs.
  • Passion: Genuine passion for education and a commitment to empowering students to succeed in their healthcare careers while upholding the highest standards of patient care and professionalism.
