The Position

We seek a Software Development Manager to leverage technical leadership and people management skills. You will oversee multiple engineering teams, manage project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and team development, including hiring, training, and mentoring. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with complex challenges.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor development and support teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Manage project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders, communicating project status and managing expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks related to scalability, performance, and security.
  • Promote continuous improvement, adopting new technologies and methodologies.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to make architectural decisions for rapid software delivery.
  • Develop career plans, manage performance, and participate in recruitment.

The role is based at the Contour Software Lahore office, supporting our R&D department.

Desired Skills and Responsibilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise Java application development.
  • 4+ years in leadership roles managing development teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale software products.
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and coaching high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and creative thinking skills.
  • Understanding of quality assurance, security, and system stability principles.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering value.
  • Experience with modern web technologies (JavaScript frameworks like Angular, Vue, React; Java Spring/Spring Boot).
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
