About the job Data Architect (On-site/ Hybrid)

A Leading US-based web solutions company is hiring a Data Architect for its Karachi office.

As a Data Architect, you'll play a key leadership role in defining, designing, and governing our data architecture strategy. You'll collaborate with engineering, analytics, and product teams to build scalable data pipelines and systems that drive our core applications, especially in domains like financial trading, crypto analytics, and AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures.

  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, DBT, or custom workflows.

  • Lead data modeling, schema design, and documentation across cloud and on-prem systems.

  • Develop best practices for data governance, versioning, and lineage tracking.

  • Manage structured and unstructured data in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, or equivalent data warehouses.

  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and accessibility across business units.

  • Collaborate with DevOps for cloud-native data deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Tune database performance, monitor pipelines, and handle large-scale ingestion (especially for stock/crypto data).

  • Advise leadership on emerging tools, tech stacks, and architecture improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data architecture or advanced data engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, SQL optimization, and database design.

  • Deep experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, or other modern DWs.

  • Expertise in Airflow, Kafka, Spark, or similar data processing frameworks.

  • Proficient in Python, SQL, and one additional scripting language.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD for data, cloud infrastructure, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Solid understanding of data security, compliance, and access control.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fintech, stock trading, or crypto analytics.

  • Understanding of event-driven architectures, real-time data streaming.

  • Exposure to AI/ML data pipelines and model serving infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
