Job Title: Medical Billing and Coding Specialist (Pakistan)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team remotely from Pakistan. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of medical billing and coding guidelines, including ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS. This role will be crucial in ensuring accurate and timely claim submissions to insurance companies, maximizing reimbursement, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Medical Coding:
    Accurately code patient encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
    Review medical records to extract pertinent information for coding.
    Ensure code accuracy and compliance with all coding guidelines and regulations.
  2. Medical Billing:
    Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies (both private and government).
    Follow up on denied claims and appeal denials when necessary.
    Monitor and track claim status and ensure timely reimbursement.
    Prepare and submit patient statements for outstanding balances.
  3. Data Entry and Maintenance:
    Accurately enter patient demographics and insurance information into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
    Maintain accurate patient records and billing data.
  4. Compliance:
    Stay updated on all relevant coding and billing regulations and guidelines.
    Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  5. Communication:
    Communicate effectively with the clinic staff in the USA regarding billing and coding issues.
    Respond promptly to inquiries and requests.
Qualifications:
  1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Completion of a certified Medical Billing and Coding program preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding in a physician's office or healthcare setting.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
    Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    Experience with medical billing software is a plus.
  4. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
    Understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
    Familiarity with insurance regulations and reimbursement methodologies.
  5. Other Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
