EssenceMediacom is an agency of GroupM, the world's largest media investment company and part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Head of Media Strategy to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the strategic vision and direction for media planning and buying for a telecommunications client. This role requires a deep understanding of the telco industry, audience behavior, and evolving media landscapes to develop data-driven and innovative media strategies that drive brand growth and business impact.

In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:
- Build a rapport with the immediate team.
- Establish relationships with media vendors.
- Ensure all processes employed by the team are compliant.
In six months:
- Monthly meetings to be run and executed by you.
- Have made or developed any changes that will impact any buying performance to the clients.
- Clear and concise communication skills – written and verbal.
In 12 months:
- Having started to develop skills for the next level.
- Understand and develop negotiations on behalf of the client.
- Demonstrate selling skills with the ability to sell in media plans / additional internal initiatives to clients.
- Achieve the given KPIs given by immediate supervisor.

The essential relationship is with Business Leadership. We aim to create a powerful duo in each of our agency verticals, clients - predominantly Marketing & Brand Managers, your client's creative agency Strategists and Planners, directors & managers of departments – mainly Marketplace (Connected Execution Planning as well as Online and Offline Investment), MBA (EssenceMediacom beyond Advertising) and key media and technology vendors, particularly their strategists.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute integrated media strategies that align with the telco client's marketing objectives and business goals.
- Media Planning & Buying: Oversee the planning and optimization of media investments across all channels, including digital, TV, radio, OOH, and emerging platforms.
- Data & Insights: Leverage consumer insights, competitive analysis, and data analytics to craft impactful media strategies.
- Innovation & Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, programmatic media, and AI-driven solutions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including account management, analytics, and creative, to ensure seamless execution.
- Client Management: Act as a key advisor to the telco client, providing strategic recommendations and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Performance Tracking: Establish KPIs, track campaign effectiveness, and drive optimization to maximize ROI.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a team of strategists and media planners, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Minimum qualifications:
- Candidate must have a bachelor's / master's Degree from a reputable educational institute.
- Must have previous experience of at least 5+ years in a strategy and/or planning function.
- The ability to work with data to develop insights and recommendations for clients.
- A collaborative attitude and approach to solving problems.
- A mastery of your strategic capability, and a basic understanding across other forms of strategy, including, but not limited to: Brand strategy, communications strategy, digital & media strategy.
- A constant curiosity to challenge the status-quo.
