We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer with over 10 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data architecture, and enterprise analytics solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms using Microsoft Fabric technologies including OneLake, Synapse, Data Factory, and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Architect and lead the development of modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric components like OneLake, Data Factory, Dataflows, and Synapse Data Engineering.
  2. Define and implement best practices in data modeling (Lakehouse, star/snowflake schemas), performance tuning, and pipeline orchestration.
  3. Build and optimize large-scale ETL/ELT processes using Spark, SQL, and Data Factory pipelines.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytics, product, and IT to gather requirements and deliver impactful data solutions.
  5. Implement enterprise data governance, data lineage, and metadata management strategies.
  6. Develop and enforce CI/CD practices for data pipeline deployment.
  7. Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to the development of engineering standards and frameworks.
  8. Stay current with Microsoft Fabric innovations and lead adoption of new tools, features, and architectures across the data team.
  9. Ensure compliance with data security policies, privacy laws, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  1. 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2+ years using Microsoft Fabric.
  2. Expert-level skills in SQL, PySpark, and data wrangling at scale.
  3. Deep experience with Microsoft Azure services: Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS, Azure SQL, and Power BI.
  4. Strong knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and working with OneLake or Delta Lake.
  5. Experience managing enterprise-scale data systems and mission-critical production environments.
  6. Hands-on knowledge of data governance, lineage (e.g., Purview), and cataloging tools.
  7. Strong understanding of modern data architecture principles, including event-driven data ingestion, real-time processing, and batch workflows.
  8. Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or any other relevant degree.
  9. Exceptional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Microsoft Certified: Fabric-specific certifications.
  2. Experience in highly regulated environments.
  3. Familiarity with AI/ML integration and serving models via data pipelines.
  4. Leadership experience in Agile or Scrum-based teams.
