Job Description:

The General Manager - Plant will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process of steel bars and billets, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in steel manufacturing and a proven track record in managing large-scale plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Leadership:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve production processes, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
  2. Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers, supervisors, and production staff.
    • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  3. Production Planning:
    • Collaborate with the planning and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate production scheduling.
    • Manage inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess stock.
    • Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to align production with market needs.
  4. Quality Control:
    • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the production process.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
    • Stay informed about environmental regulations and ensure the plant operates within compliance.
  6. Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the plant's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
    • Monitor and control operational expenses.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  7. Maintenance and Equipment:
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant equipment to minimize downtime.
    • Ensure that all machinery and equipment are operating at peak efficiency.
    • Plan for capital expenditures and equipment upgrades as needed.

Requirements:

  1. 20 years of experience or 15+ years of experience with Bachelor in Engineering (Electrical, Metallurgy)
