Senior Maintenance Mechanic

is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic - HVAC Technician to perform skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service, and repair of HVAC systems across all facilities on the New Embassy Compound/New Consulate Compound (NEC/NCC) in Islamabad, Pakistan. This includes office buildings, grounds, outbuildings, ancillary structures, and residential properties owned or leased by the embassy.

This position reports to the Senior Maintenance Supervisor and is based in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

1. Monitor heating, cooling, and related systems by interpreting energy management system alarms and temperature and pressure differentials. Troubleshoot problems and make adjustments as necessary. Perform preventive maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations and the facilities' computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
2. Maintain accurate records of building systems and equipment. Ensure adequate stock of spare parts and materials to keep systems operational.
3. Perform skilled mechanical maintenance by inspecting and testing facility system components to locate faults and malfunctions.
4. Ensure proper operation of mechanical systems and devices such as pumps, motors, and compressors.
5. Conduct preventive maintenance to keep systems within prescribed operating standards and performance rates.
6. Troubleshoot issues and perform repairs using hand tools and precision measuring and testing devices.
7. Provide detailed estimates for repair or replacement costs that exceed current capabilities.
8. Repair existing systems according to work orders or verbal instructions, including site inspection, planning, and installation as needed.
9. Work Monday through Saturday.

Requirements:

1. Education:
   • Secondary school completion required.
   • Graduate of an accredited or military program providing formal HVAC journeyman training, with hands-on experience within the last 8 years, or hold a valid Master license at the state level.
   • Must hold a current EPA-approved CFC Universal certification for high and low-pressure refrigerants and be familiar with relevant regulations.
   • Completion of coursework covering HVAC principles, system design, maintenance, troubleshooting, refrigerants, building pressurization, indoor air quality, and related areas.
2. Clearance: Top Secret
3. Experience:
   • At least 5 years of mechanical experience with overseas HVAC operations.
   • At least 5 years of journey-level experience in installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of commercial or industrial HVAC/refrigeration systems.
   • Experience working with 100-ton chillers or larger, and large air-handling units, demonstrating increased responsibility and troubleshooting expertise.
   • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain it.
   • Knowledge of safety hazards and compliance with environmental, OSHA, and local safety standards.
   • Ability to manage critical projects and coordinate across organizational lines.
   • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
