Introduction: Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research, and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health aims to support the introduction, piloting, and scaling-up of high-quality, high-impact interventions to improve maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (MNCAH) in Pakistan by harnessing the potential of both the public and private sectors, coupled with the introduction of women and girls' empowerment interventions.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with community leaders and project staff to ensure smooth project activities.
  • Develop proposals for submission to granting agencies, adhering to requirements and timelines.
  • Assist Co/PI in finalizing grant proposals.
  • Draft and submit manuscripts to reputed international journals.
  • Contribute to publications, present at conferences, and participate in academic discussions to disseminate research outcomes.
  • Hire and train research staff as per project needs.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure discipline, supplies, and staffing at field sites.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and report issues to management with solutions for efficient performance.
  • Prepare and compile study progress reports.
  • Submit manuscripts in collaboration with the Data Manager and produce monthly project reports.
  • Present study results as required.
  • Provide mentorship and training to research staff to promote knowledge exchange.
  • Engage in professional development activities, including courses, workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Travel to field sites within and outside Karachi, including remote locations, as required.
  • Participate in international travel as needed.
Requirements:
  • MPH / M.Sc. in Epidemiology and Biostatistics / M.Sc. in health policy and management / Masters in sociology or relevant fields.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant research and health systems experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct both quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Familiarity with the government health system.
  • Capability to manage field teams, work independently, and take initiative.
  • Computer skills: MS Word, spreadsheets.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills in English.
