The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health & climate change, and non-communicable diseases & mental health.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Responsibilities

You will be required to:

  • conduct participant screening and recruitment
  • administer structured surveys and questionnaires
  • collect, record, and ensure the accuracy of quantitative and qualitative data
  • transcribe qualitative interviews while maintaining participant confidentiality
  • organise and document study materials and field notes
  • coordinate with participants to schedule interviews and manage appointments
  • ensure strict adherence to research protocols and ethical standards during all data collection activities.
Requirements

You should have:

  • intermediate from a recognized board
  • at least one year of experience in community-based data collection
  • strong understanding of field research protocols, including participant consent and ethical guidelines
  • proficiency in using digital tools and data entry platforms; experience with REDCap is highly preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse community members
  • fluency in Sindhi is essential
  • strong written and verbal communication skills in English and local languages such as Urdu and Sindhi
  • detail-oriented with excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within diverse teams
  • willingness to travel regularly to field sites and adapt to changing project needs.
