Fashion Designer Intern – Economic Empowerment Initiative (Design House)

About Us:

The Brown Network is committed to advancing sustainable, community-driven solutions across economic empowerment, education, and climate action. As part of our donor-funded Economic Empowerment Initiative, we are launching a Design House to transform the creative skills of underprivileged women into thriving economic opportunities.

We are looking for two passionate Fashion Designer Interns to join us in shaping around 4 powerful fashion campaigns over a two-month period — fusing creativity with impact.

About the Role:

As a Fashion Designer Intern, you will work closely with our team and community trainees to support the design, development, and execution of fashion campaigns. This is a unique opportunity to design with purpose — blending traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics to drive real-world change.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the research and development of concepts for 6–8 thematic fashion campaigns

- Create mood boards, sketches, and product designs inspired by sustainable and cultural elements

- Support material sourcing, embroidery patterns, and finishing touches for samples

- Collaborate directly with artisans and trainees to co-create campaign pieces

- Participate in fittings, photoshoots, and promotional activities

- Maintain creative documentation and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the impact of each campaign

Who You Are:

- A current student or recent graduate in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related discipline

- Strong sketching and visualization skills (manual or digital)

- Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop is a plus

- Passionate about fashion with a purpose, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship

- A team player, eager to learn, contribute, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
