About Us: Soch Fact Check is an independent but dynamic fact-checking organisation dedicated to identifying, verifying, and countering misinformation and disinformation. We are proud to be the only local organisation in Pakistan that is a member of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and an official partner in Meta's Third-Party Fact-Checking program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Claim Identification: Assist in identifying potentially false or misleading claims circulating online and in the media.
• Verification Support: Conduct research and use fact-checking tools to verify claims and gather supporting evidence.
• Article Production: Write clear and concise weekly articles, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for our audience.
• Collaborative Work: Support senior fact-checkers and contribute to broader organisational goals.
• Social Media Monitoring: Monitor trends and identify misinformation on various social media platforms.

Requirements:

• Education: Undergraduate degree in journalism, communication, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 1 year of journalism or related experience is preferred; experience working at a start-up or dynamic team environment is a plus.
• Language Skills: Strong command of written and spoken English and Urdu.
• Writing Skills: Ability to produce clear, engaging, and accurate articles.
• Tech Savvy: Familiarity with social media platforms and tools for monitoring and analysing online content.
• Cultural Insight: Nuanced understanding of Pakistan's political and cultural landscape.
