Position Snapshot

Job Type: Full Time (Shift Operations)

Qualification: Bachelor's in Microbiology/Food Science

Experience: 1-2 years of experience

Main Purpose of the Job:

To ensure that the Nestlé Quality Management System is consistently applied throughout the factory. The function is the guardian of food safety and compliance and the challenger of all functions to drive Nestlé Continuous Excellence in the pursuit of zero defect & waste as the essential base for maintaining consumer trust and preference (consumer delight).

A Day in the life of a Microbiologist Lead:

  • Develop and maintain competences and quality awareness, and commitment to zero defect.
  • Setup, manage, enforce and maintain the Nestlé Quality Management System
  • Ensure the correct functioning of the laboratory in compliance to ISO 17025, including personnel safety, availability of equipment and training of technicians.
  • Ensure adequate analytical competence to perform the required analyses and adequate monitoring of rapid methods.
  • Ensure correct and on time reporting of results to customers and engage in resolution of customer complaints.
  • Ensure adherence to good hygienic practices and engage in knowledge building of shop floor team for prevention of microbiological cross contamination.
  • Facilitate in root cause investigation for microbiological issues related to processing lines.
  • Manage the internal auditing program, assessing the performance of the quality system, reporting its effectiveness to the management and proposing actions for improvement.
  • Ensure the monitoring of key quality parameters by means of statistical process control in order to drive structured root cause analysis and continuous improvement in the quest for zero defect.
  • Maintain full compliance of products including but not limited to label, regulatory and recipe compliance.
  • Promote quality awareness. Assist in quality training for personnel and contractors (this includes initial-, quality awareness -, hygiene training and training of quality staff) and laboratory personnel.
  • Strictly abide by the WHO and Local Code in the execution of his/her job in its letter and spirit. Will be prohibited from making any direct contact with pregnant women and mothers of infants and young children in their business capacity.
  • Bachelor's in food technology with 1-2 years of experience in the field of quality. Demonstrated capability to lead a group, e.g., Lab analysts.
  • Extensive collaboration and communication with corporate team (Brand. CQA, Procurement, consumer services).
  • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams.
