Background and Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and representation to migrants and vulnerable groups in immigration, criminal, and civil law.
  • Lead legal activities in designated districts, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of paralegals to ensure effective legal service delivery.
  • Manage legal cases, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and ethical practices.
  • Lead a team comprising 1 legal expert and 3 paralegals in the district(s).
  • Conduct team meetings, provide guidance, and prepare reports on legal activities.
  • Maintain legal documentation and ensure organizational and donor reporting compliance.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders including government agencies and NGOs.
  • Represent the project in legal forums and advocate for migrants' rights.
  • Coordinate with other teams for integrated service delivery.
  • Conduct training on legal rights and procedures.
  • Develop legal awareness materials and promote gender and social inclusion.
Requirements

Education: A law degree (LLM or LLB preferred).

Experience:

  • At least 4 years in the development sector, with project and team management experience.
  • Expertise in legal/human rights interventions and reporting.
  • Experience working with law enforcement, government, and development actors in Pakistan.
  • Experience in human rights, gender equality, and migrant issues; familiarity with emergency/humanitarian sectors is a plus.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Pashto is desirable.
