We are currently seeking an experienced SAN Storage Strategic Lead to join our team.

In this role, you will:

  1. Define and drive the future strategy for block storage.
  2. Lead the design and implementation of SAN infrastructure solutions that meet the company's data storage needs.
  3. Assess and define SAN architecture requirements, considering performance, capacity, and scalability.
  4. Select and configure SAN hardware (e.g., switches, storage arrays, fibre channel, and iSCSI protocols) based on industry standards and best practices.
  5. Work with vendors to evaluate and select storage hardware and software solutions.
  6. Conduct proof of concept (POC) for new products/technologies and make decisions accordingly.
  7. Implement observability tools such as OTEL for end-to-end product monitoring.
  8. Oversee the implementation of SAN solutions, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  9. Configure and deploy SAN switches, storage arrays, and related components.
  10. Integrate SAN storage with virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and ensure compatibility with backup, disaster recovery, and archiving solutions.
  11. Perform capacity planning to anticipate future storage needs and ensure scalability.
  12. Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting to resolve SAN-related issues, maintaining high availability and reliability.
  13. Monitor SAN health and performance using appropriate tools.
  14. Design and implement backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies for SAN storage to ensure business continuity.
  15. Regularly test data recovery processes to ensure rapid execution during outages or disasters.
  16. Maintain security best practices for SAN storage, including encryption, access control, and audit logging.
  17. Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and internal security policies.
  18. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure storage solutions meet organizational needs.
  19. Maintain thorough documentation of storage designs, configurations, and procedures.
  20. Provide training and guidance to IT staff on SAN technologies and best practices.
  21. Offer expert troubleshooting and resolution for complex SAN issues.
  22. Act as an escalation point for SAN storage incidents and service requests.
