We're expanding fast, and we're looking for an experienced SMB Sales Manager to lead and grow our team of Account Executives focused on acquiring and scaling small to mid-sized merchants.
Role Overview
As the SMB Sales Manager, you will be responsible for building, coaching, and leading a team of reps selling into SMB accounts. You'll ensure the team consistently drives new business, manages pipelines effectively, and contributes to Burq's overall revenue growth. This role is highly hands-on — you'll be both a coach and a strategist, ensuring reps are successful in outbound prospecting, consultative selling, and closing merchants.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage a High-Performing Team: Hire, train, and develop a team of SMB Account Executives.
- Activity & Pipeline Management: Set clear daily/weekly activity expectations (calls, demos, proposals) and hold reps accountable to building and maintaining a healthy pipeline.
- Coaching & Development: Provide regular feedback through 1:1s, call reviews, and roleplays to sharpen reps' prospecting, discovery, and closing skills.
- Quota Achievement: Ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Sales Process Optimization: Refine and implement repeatable, scalable sales processes in HubSpot (CRM) to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Partner with Marketing on lead generation campaigns and Customer Success on smooth merchant onboarding and adoption.
- Market Insights: Act as the voice of the customer, sharing feedback and trends from SMB prospects to inform product and GTM strategy.
- Culture Builder: Foster a high-energy, competitive, and supportive sales culture that celebrates wins and learns from losses.
Qualifications :
- 5 -8 years of B2B sales experience with 3 -5 years in a leadership or player/coach role, preferably in SMB sales.
- Proven ability to consistently hit or exceed quotas (individual and team).
- Experience selling into SMB or local business segments; logistics, SaaS, or marketplace sales experience is a strong plus.
- Hands-on CRM experience — HubSpot strongly preferred.
- Strong operational discipline with the ability to track KPIs, coach to metrics, and forecast accurately.
- Excellent communication, motivation, and leadership skills.
- Startup experience or ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Play a key role in scaling a high-growth sales team from the ground up.
