About the role:

This position is a CX-2 role and is ideal for a hands-on AI practitioner, expected to guide Telenor Pakistan in charting its AI strategy and overseeing its adaption and implementation, while balancing value creation, ethical and governance considerations.

Your Impactful Goals will include:

• Guide AI Business Strategy: Chart the optimum course for AI adaption, recommending technology adaptions and evolution, while balancing business and investment considerations
• Lead AI program: Exercise thought leadership with AI. Guide and work with different cross-functional teams working on AI use cases, ensuring best practice adaption and knowledge sharing.
• Foster AI Use Cases' Adaption: Guide on how various business problems can be solved with AI, especially in context of Telecom business and adjacent business verticals.
• Help with Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about national & global AI regulations and ensure all AI initiatives comply with applicable laws and guidelines.
• Evaluate AI Solutions: Assess generative AI and ML models for quality, safety, reliability, and alignment with organizational goals.
• Ethical Standards: Establish and help enforce ethical guidelines for AI development and deployment, to ensure mitigation of associated risks, including bias, privacy concerns and misuse.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous evaluation and improvement practices for AI models and governance frameworks.

Your Typical day at work

• Architectural assessment of AI use-cases and proposals, in terms of Data Security, Solution Design and Technology Architecture
• Knowledge uplift and expertise development of Telenor teams in the fields of AI, LLM and GenAI applications
• Briefings to upper management and colleagues on related and needed areas within the field
• Helping TP develop a robust AI governance framework for use cases and applications
• Meetings with governmental bodies, regulator and industry stakeholders in relation to market and business-related developments in AI
• Analysis, documentation, risk assessment and reporting for AI and LLM related proposals and use cases
• Propose metrics and trackers for AI use-cases to gauge their effectiveness and business impact for governance and evaluation

What we are looking for?

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Tech Industry (Preferred: Telecom)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in AI/ML evaluation, governance, or a related role.

Preferred Certifications:

• Certified AI Ethics and Governance Officer
• AI Governance Professional (AIGP)
• Certified Ethical Emerging Technologist (CEET)
• AI Governance, Risk, and Compliance Professional

The career path for this position may lead to permanent position within the organization as the organization adapts to AI structurally within its Technology Architecture.

Functional Skills / Knowledge Areas

• Proficiency in AI/ML technologies, Generative AI models, and relevant evaluation metrics.
• Strong understanding of national & global AI regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience in developing and implementing ethical guidelines and risk management practices for AI.
• Agentic AI Development: proven experience in developing and deploying Agentic AI systems
• Agentic AI Platforms: familiarity with leading Agentic AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, along with experience in deploying on-premises Agentic AI development platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
