Job Summary

Own and drive the integrated "One Bank" Technology and Operations agenda in Pakistan, aligning across business and functions, working closely with Cluster T&O MT, Country MT, Group Technology and Operations MT, and relevant stakeholders. This includes all regulatory responsibilities and acting as the face-off to regulators on behalf of Technology and Operations in the country.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
  • Partner with the Country CEO to develop and refine the country's strategy.
  • Ensure alignment of Technology and Operations strategies at the country level, incorporating local needs into Group strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of service delivery strategies, working with key leadership.
  • Drive key initiatives and projects supporting the country's strategic goals.
  • Manage critical projects such as acquisitions, divestitures, and regulatory initiatives, including regulatory liaison when necessary.
  • Identify and execute initiatives to grow the business and increase operational efficiency.
  • Lead the digital transformation agenda to position the bank as a leading digital entity.
  • Promote agile adoption within Technology and Operations teams to improve customer experience and outcomes.
  • Streamline processes, leverage technology for productivity, and reduce risks.
  • Oversee strategic investment reviews and key decision-making processes at the country level.
Business
  • Work with management and risk committees to ensure efficiency and scalability aligned with global standards.
  • Collaborate with business heads to implement change management and ensure strong controls and governance.
  • Maintain cost discipline and prioritize issues related to risk, control, investment, and talent.
  • Align projects and priorities with CIO and COO, ensuring effective execution.
  • Drive continuous productivity and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure stable, secure, and high-quality technology and operations delivery.
Regional Initiatives & Governance
  • Manage regional projects, including regulatory and strategic initiatives.
  • Support business growth and operational efficiency initiatives at the regional level.
  • Ensure governance standards are met, operational risks are managed, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead risk management, escalation, and mitigation efforts, supporting audit and regulatory processes.
Processes & Technology
  • Lead process excellence initiatives to reduce risk and improve client service.
  • Ensure alignment with global policies and drive digitization projects.
  • Promote best practices, technology standards, and integrated "One Bank" strategies across functions.
People & Culture
  • Model and promote the bank's values and culture.
  • Lead change to foster a client-centric, agile, and accountable culture.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring diversity and inclusion.
  • Review team structures, provide training, and ensure succession planning.
Resilience, Conduct & Stakeholders
  • Ensure resilience frameworks support business strategy and risks are managed.
  • Oversee conduct and compliance, promoting ethical standards and regulatory adherence.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, clients, and industry partners.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Embed the bank's values and behaviors in the Technology & Operations function.
  • Build a culture of good conduct and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification.
  • 3-5 years as a senior people leader, with 5-7 years in technology leadership.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and banking systems.
  • Experience managing global teams in operations and technology.
  • Knowledge of future technology trends and agile transformation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with international exposure preferred.
