Responsibilities:

The position of Chief Engineer - Design exists for the purpose of taking necessary design initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of innovative technologies into the natural gas transmission infrastructure. The incumbent will be instrumental in overseeing major design engineering projects, fostering a culture of technical innovation, while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a strategic vision for design initiatives, aligning engineering teams with SSGC's objectives for innovative and efficient natural gas infrastructure.
  • Manage engineering projects, ensuring that the design meets the industry standards, regulatory compliance, and seamlessly integrates into the overall project execution.
  • Implement robust quality assurance protocols for design processes, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and consistency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize design workflows.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous development, designing and implementing training programs to enhance the capabilities of the design workforce in emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Ensure that design activities strictly comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and relevant regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with regulatory affairs teams to secure necessary approvals.
  • Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between the design department and other organizational units, ensuring that design considerations align harmoniously with broader organizational goals.
  • Implement total quality management principles to enhance overall organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Exhibit strong planning and organizational skills, optimizing resources and workflows to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrate deep functional expertise, providing guidance and insights based on a comprehensive understanding of the relevant domain.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, effectively communicating progress, achievements, and challenges to senior management.
  • Provide clear insights into the tangible impact of design initiatives on SSGC's gas infrastructure.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making skills, solving complex problems efficiently to achieve optimal design outcomes.
  • Ensure that his/her team in his/her domain is complying with the Company HSE&QA Guideline and implementing the HSE&QA procedures and protocols in routine processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information provided for risk reporting.
  • Undertake any other task as assigned by superiors.
