Job Description
  • Coordinate with Pharmacists to ensure proper handover protocols are followed, and provide daily reports to the Assistant Manager/Manager of Pharmacy Services.
  • Supervise unit-dose drug dispensation and distribution, reviewing patient profiles and CPOE to prevent drug interactions and promote rational drug use. Contact physicians regarding order inaccuracies or medication unavailability, providing relevant documentation to the Clinical Pharmacist.
  • Ensure requisitions are issued and filled accurately, with prompt delivery of unit-dose medications to the nursing units.
  • Monitor and manage inventory stock levels, suggesting adjustments when necessary.
  • Prepare and forward requisitions to the Pharmacy store as required.
  • Receive goods from the Pharmacy store, check physically, and shelve stock in proper locations at specified temperatures.
  • Provide accurate drug information to healthcare professionals as needed, maintaining records of the information provided according to protocols.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Assistant/Manager of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacists detailing stock status, including fast-moving, slow-moving, short expiry, expired, broken, or damaged items.
  • Arrange inspections of nursing units and clinics monthly to monitor proper storage and distribution of patient floor stock, controlled drugs, and emergency medications.
  • Provide technical and administrative support, including staff training.
  • Ensure high-alert medications are properly labeled, with all precautions and information for administration clearly provided.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions.
  • Document interventions, drug information, and relevant activities, providing these details to management (Pharmacist, Assistant Manager, or Manager).
  • Monitor temperatures and maintain accurate documentation of storage conditions.
  • Provide management with regular updates and monthly KPI reports.
  • Perform all other tasks assigned by the Manager or Assistant Manager of Pharmacy Services.
