Job Title: MEP Engineer

Job Summary:

The MEP Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, execution, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a building project. This role involves coordination with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration and efficiency of MEP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Planning:
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Analyze project requirements and ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and sustainability guidelines.
  • Develop layouts using CAD and BIM software.
  • Project Execution & Supervision:
  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems on-site.
  • Ensure quality and safety compliance during all phases of MEP works.
  • Review and approve MEP subcontractor shop drawings and materials.
  • Coordination:
  • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to ensure integration of systems.
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical input on MEP aspects.
  • Cost & Resource Management:
  • Estimate costs and prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for MEP systems.
  • Monitor MEP budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
  • Oversee routine maintenance and resolve system failures.
  • Propose upgrades or retrofitting solutions for older systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Professional certification or license (e.g., PMP, LEED, or PE) is a plus.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant design software.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international MEP codes and standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and team coordination abilities.
