Senior Information Technology Business Analyst

About The Role

Overview:

We are looking for a skilled IT Business Analyst. This role will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions by analyzing and defining IT requirements for various projects and initiatives.

Roles, Responsibilities, & Authorities:

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, and requirements, and translate them into clear and concise IT requirements.
2. Conduct detailed analysis of current business processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement and propose innovative technology solutions.
3. Gather and document business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories, ensuring they are comprehensive, consistent, and aligned with business goals.
4. Perform feasibility studies and impact assessments to evaluate the technical viability of proposed IT solutions.
5. Work closely with development teams, acting as a liaison between business users and technical teams, to ensure accurate and timely implementation of IT solutions.
6. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and interviews with stakeholders to elicit requirements, resolve issues, and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
7. Create and maintain project documentation, including requirements traceability matrix, process flows, and test plans, to support the development and testing phases.
8. Collaborate with QA teams to define and execute test scenarios and ensure the delivered IT solutions meet the specified requirements and quality standards.
9. Support end-users during user acceptance testing (UAT), providing guidance and resolving any issues or discrepancies identified during the testing phase.
10. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business analysis and IT solutions to provide recommendations for process improvements and innovation.

Competence Criteria:

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) are a plus.
2. Proven experience (5+ years) as an IT Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in a startup or technology-driven environment.
3. Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, requirements gathering, and documentation techniques.
4. Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) for effective project delivery.
5. Proficiency in using business analysis tools and techniques, such as process modeling, data modeling, user story development, and acceptance criteria definition.
6. Experience with translating business requirements into technical specifications and collaborating with development teams for successful solution implementation.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels and bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work in a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment.
10. Familiarity with technology trends, such as cloud computing, data analytics, and mobile applications, and their impact on business operations.
11. Proficiency in using project management and collaboration tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms.
12. Proficient verbal and written communication in English
