Job Description:

An Associate IT Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting an organization's network infrastructure. They assist senior engineers in designing, implementing, and managing network solutions while ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, access points, etc.).
  2. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  3. Support network security by managing firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
  4. Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
  5. Collaborate with IT teams to resolve network-related issues and optimize performance.
  6. Assist in network upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.
  7. Maintain and enforce network policies and procedures.
  8. Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching).
  3. Familiarity with networking hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba.
  4. Understanding of network security principles.
  5. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and in a team.
  7. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  8. Relevant certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nagios, PRTG).
  2. Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
