About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Academic Department Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising clinical and academic activities within the department.
Key Responsibilities- Lectures and Teaching: Develop and deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, clinical skills, and practical sessions according to the curriculum.
- Postgraduate Support: Provide support to postgraduate trainees in clinical presentations, small group discussions, case-based and problem-based teaching, journal club, and preparation for inter-module examinations.
- Clinical Meetings: Assist in organizing CPC/clinical meetings and conferences with other professional organizations.
- Research and Development: Facilitate faculty members and postgraduate trainees in research and development through continuous education and a learning environment.
- Patient Care: Provide knowledge on basic patient care, emergency treatment, and decision-making for common patient problems.
- Examinations: Assist in conducting MBBS/BDS examinations.
- Continuing Medical Care: Ensure regular OPD sessions for continuing medical care and manage new patients referred for specialist advice.
- Clinical Rounds: Conduct regular clinical rounds to manage progress and care of indoor patients.
- Medical Procedures: Conduct medical procedures under senior consultant supervision and monitor diagnostics and investigations.
- Specialist Advice: Provide specialist advice on medical problems referred from other departments.
- Emergency Assessments: Assess patients in the emergency department if required.
- On-Call Commitments: Ensure on-call commitments after duty hours to provide critical patient cover.
- Departmental Inquiries: Assist in departmental confidential inquiries of mortalities.
- Staff Management: Manage, supervise, and train PGs/MOs/HOs and paramedical staff to ensure quality health services.
- Duty Rota: Prepare and monitor duty rota for the department, including paramedical staff.
- Hospital Liaison: Maintain close liaison with hospital administration for proper ward management and patient records.
